Starting on October 6, all landline and DUO numbers using the area code 02 will be migrated to an 8 digit format in compliance with the National Telecommunications Commission's Memorandum Order 4-07-2018.

This is to address the insufficient number of assignable exchange codes.

Which areas are affected by this change?

All locations with the area code “02” are affected by this change. These areas are:

  • Metro Manila
  • Rizal Province
  • San Pedro, Laguna; and
  • Bacoor, Cavite

I am outside of the (02) area code, will I be affected by this change?

No, only users under the “02” area code will be affected by this ordinance.

When will the migration to an 8-digit number format happen?

The migration is scheduled to happen on October 6, 2019, from 12:01AM -5AM.

What will happen during the migration period? Will services be affected?

On October 6, 2019, from 12:01 AM to 5AM, all telephone numbers with the (02) area code will experience an interruption in their incoming and outgoing calls.

Internet connection will remain uninterrupted during this period.
